Yes. Share your dimensions or plans and our team will help you build an accurate material list, so you neither run short nor over-buy.
Lumber and panel prices change with the market, so we quote current pricing. Send a quote request with your project details and we will get back to you.
Quotes are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Alberta has no provincial sales tax, so 5% GST applies to most orders.
Lumber and sheet goods in Canada are sized in imperial (2×4, 4×8 ft sheets), so we work in feet and inches, and are happy to give metric equivalents if you need them.
Requirements vary by municipality. Many Alberta municipalities require permits for raised decks, garages, larger sheds and structural work, so check with yours. Our buying guides cover the basics.

Spruce & Treated Lumber
Spruce is a light, strong framing lumber for interior and protected structural use. Pressure-treated lumber is infused with preservative so it resists rot and insects, which makes it the right choice for decks, fences and anything touching soil or moisture.
Yes, when it is rated for ground contact. Tell us the application and we will point you to the correct retention rating. In Alberta, spring melt and frost heave make the ground-contact rating especially important for posts.
Yes. SPF is the standard framing lumber across Western Canada and is used for cold-climate construction. For anything at or near the ground, use pressure-treated lumber.
OSB & Plywood
OSB is economical and performs well for sheathing and subfloors. Plywood handles moisture swings better and has a smoother face, so it is favoured for exposed edges, cabinetry and wet-prone areas.
Yes. Panels are delivered flat and banded on our flatbed, and we can offload where your crew needs them.
It depends on your rafter or truss spacing and the design snow load for your location. Check your plans, or tell us the spacing and we will match the panel span rating.
Composite Decking
No. Composite boards never need staining or sealing. A wash with soap and water keeps them looking new.
The upfront cost is higher, but with no sealing, refinishing or board replacement, most owners come out ahead over the life of the deck.
Composite is designed for freeze-thaw cycles and does not soak up moisture like wood. Follow the manufacturer's gap and fastening guidance, since boards expand and contract with temperature, and use a plastic shovel to clear snow.
Treated Decking
Let new treated wood dry out first — often several weeks depending on the weather. Ask us for a moisture test tip before sealing.
With proper fasteners and regular sealing, a treated deck commonly lasts 15 to 25 years.
Some checking (small surface cracks) is normal as treated wood dries, and Alberta's dry air and chinooks can speed it up. Let boards acclimatize, then seal or stain them once dry and re-seal regularly.
Fences
A common rule is one-third of the post length underground, set in concrete. In Alberta, frost can reach 1.2 m (4 ft) or deeper, so many installers set posts to that depth. We can advise for your area.
Yes. Send us your linear footage and gate count and we will return a full material list.
Yes. Check your municipal bylaws for height limits and use your Real Property Report (RPR) to confirm property lines. Contact Alberta One-Call before you dig so buried utilities are located.
Building Supplies
Yes — joist hangers, hurricane ties, post bases and more. Bring your plan and we will match the connectors to the load.
Unused, undamaged materials can generally be returned. Ask about our return policy when you order.
